Bilston Neighbourhood Church (BNC) is a local fellowship that aims to Reach, Build and Equip disciples of Jesus on life’s journey with Him.
BNC holds to the teachings of the Bible and is attentive to the work of the Holy Spirit, sent to lead and empower His people to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom (as declared by Jesus and the early Apostles during the 1st Century).
BNC began in 1992 at St. Michaels Mission Hall and since then it has been reaching, building and equipping people from all walks of life, enabling them to advance the Kingdom of God. You can learn more about BNC on the ABOUT page.
REACH
In Matt. 28:20 Jesus gave the great commission to “Go and make disciples of all nations (ethnic groups), baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that the Lord has commanded.”
BNC is about REACHING people of all backgrounds and inviting them to be part of God’s Kingdom. BNC is about building relationships with people and believes that God’s salvation is open to everyone as they are valued. We all need a saviour to save us from sin and restore our lives to His good purposes.
BUILD
1 Thes. 5:11 states “Encourage one another and BUILD each other up.” At BNC we believe that disciples of Jesus need to be built up in the Truth and Love of God.
Life can often be challenging, which can hinder our walk with God. However, at BNC we all have a role to play in building and encouraging one another as we serve the Lord. It is our aim that everyone who attends BNC should leave feeling better and built up in the Love and Truth of God.
EQUIP
Eph. 4:11-12 states “Now these are the gifts Christ has given to the Church: the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to EQUIP God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”
At BNC we have leaders who strive to equip God’s people with the right tools to advance the Kingdom. BNC recognise that the Holy Spirit has given practical, spiritual and ministry gifts to the Church so we are properly equipped to do His work. We strive to enable people to rightly use their gifts with the aim of being effective witnesses for Christ and a positive representation of the Kingdom, building one another up in LOVE and TRUTH.
ADVANCE
Matt. 10:16 Jesus said “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Be harmless as doves but wise as snakes.” At BNC we believe that as disciples of Jesus, we have a responsibility to advance the Kingdom of God within whatever social settings we find ourselves in. The world is a dark place, yet Jesus has commissioned us to be HIS light in all aspects of life.
BNC does not strive to keep disciples in one place but encourages them to advance the Kingdom as the Holy Spirit leads. BNC strives to prepare disciples with the right biblical teaching and key principles of the Kingdom as depicted in the scriptures to be effective witnesses of the Truth.
